Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round baking pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, black cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, buttermilk, hot coffee, canola oil, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
