  • 8 fresh peaches (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Arrange the sliced peaches in the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, ¾ cup sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until combined.
  4. In another bowl, melt the butter and whisk in vanilla extract. Pour over dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Sprinkle batter evenly over the peaches.
