  • 1 cup light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) salted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place cubed butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish and melt in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until just blended.
  4. Toss peach wedges with remaining brown sugar and maple syrup.
  5. Layer half of the peach mixture over melted butter in the baking dish. Pour batter on top without stirring, then add the remaining peaches.
  6. Bake for 50–55 minutes until set and golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare maple butter by boiling melted butter with maple syrup for two minutes.
